北京國家體育場（鳥巢）是北京奧林匹克公園的中心。該體育場是為2008年夏季奧運(yùn)會和殘奧會而設(shè)計(jì)的。鳥巢建筑面積25.8萬平方米，可容納9.1萬名觀眾。該體育場于2003年12月破土動工，2008年6月正式開放。北京國家體育場承辦了2008年夏季奧運(yùn)會和2008年夏季殘奧會的開閉幕式、田徑比賽和足球決賽。雖然是為奧運(yùn)會田徑項(xiàng)目而設(shè)計(jì)的，但之后該體育場將繼續(xù)舉辦足球等體育項(xiàng)目。它是北京最重要的公共空間之一，也是標(biāo)志性的體育建筑。

Beijing National Stadium ( the Bird’s Nest) is the centerpiece of the Olympic Green in Beijing. The stadium was designed for the 2008 Summer Olympics and Paralympics. The Bird’s Nest, with an area of 258,000 square meters, has room for 91,000 spectators. Ground was broken in December 2003 and the stadium officially opened in June 2008. Beijing National Stadium hosted the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, athletic events, and the football final of the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2008 Summer Paralympics. Though designed for track and field events of the Olympics, the stadium will continue to host sports events, such as football, afterwards. It is one of the most important public space in Beijing and the iconic sports architecture.
