三峽工程位于西陵峽的三斗坪，由跨江大壩、水電站和通航設(shè)施組成。作為世界上最大的水利工程，三峽工程在防洪、發(fā)電、航運(yùn)、養(yǎng)殖等方面具有巨大效益。2006年5月20日，對(duì)于著名的長(zhǎng)江三峽水電工程來(lái)說(shuō)，是具有歷史意義的一天：三峽大壩正式建成，比原計(jì)劃提前了近10個(gè)月。三峽工程是世界上最大的水電站，總裝機(jī)容量1820萬(wàn)千瓦，年發(fā)電量847億千瓦時(shí)。

As the world’s largest water conservancy project, this project has great benefits in flood control, power generation, shipping and breeding. May 20, 2006 was a historical day for the famous Three Gorges Hydro-electric Project on Yangtze River: the Three Gorges Dam was officially opened, nearly 10 months earlier than scheduled.
