December 10th, 1964, Civil rights leader Martin Luther King Junior accepts his Nobel Peace Prize in Norway’s capital Oslo. The clergyman and activist is honored for his non-violent campaign to end legal segregation of African Americans in the South.

1967, “Sitting in the morning sun, I'll be sitting when the evening comes”. Soul singer and song writer, Otis Redding dies when his private plane crashes near Madison, Wisconsin. He was twenty six years old.

2005, “This is an emergency. Can I talk to die...” Actor-comedian Richard Pryor dies at the age of 65.
