1 Kally and Eddie are talking in the school garden.

What's the matter?

My friends have a lot of pocket money,but I've got only a little.

I can't buy many new toys.

I'm good at a lot of subjects, but I'm poor at Maths.

2 Miss Guo tells Kally and Eddie a story.

Long ago,there was a poor farmer called Fred.

Fred and his wife,Doris,lived happily together in their tiny old hut.

One winter night,the Luck Fairy visited them.

Fred,you're a good farmer.I'd like to give you a wish,'said the Luck Fairy.

A wish?' said Fred.

Fred and Doris smiled at each other.

Then Fred said,'Thank you, Luck Fairy.We're very healthy and happy'

Although we're old,we still work in the fields every day,'said Doris.

You work very hard,but you earn very little money.

Would you like some gold coins?'asked the Luck Fairy.

3.'Oh no,my dear Luck Fairy.

Although we're poor,we still have enough food to eat,'replied Fred.

You can use the gold coins to buy some new clothes.

The winter here is very cold,'said the Luck Fairy.

Although we haven't got many clothes,we've got enough,'said Doris.

Well,what about a nice, new house?'asked the Luck Fairy.

Thank you.I like my tiny,old hut very much.

I've lived here since I was born.

I don't want a new house,'said Fred.

You're very different from other people.

I like you very much,'said the Luck Fairy.

I wish you happiness and health forever.'

Then the Luck Fairy disappeared.

費雷德和多麗絲相視一笑。

“謝謝你，幸運仙女。我們非常健康快樂?！?/p>

“雖然說我們老了，我們?nèi)悦刻煸谔锢飫趧??！倍帑惤z說道。

“你們辛苦工作，但是掙的非常少。

你們想要一些金幣嗎？”幸運仙女問道。

3.“噢不，親愛的幸運仙女。

雖然我們貧窮，我們?nèi)杂凶銐虺缘氖澄铩！辟M雷德回答道。

“你們可以用金幣買一些新衣服。

這里的冬天非常冷，”幸運仙女說道。

盡管我們沒有許多衣服，我們已經(jīng)足夠了，多麗絲說。

“好，那么一個漂亮的新房子怎么樣？”幸運仙女問道。

“謝謝你。我非常喜歡我的小舊屋。

自從出生以來我一直住在這。

我不想要新房子，”費雷德說。

我非常喜歡你們，”幸運仙女說。
