This is AP News Minute.

A new AP poll of likely voters finds they’re evenly divided on whether President Barack Obama’s healthcare law should be scrapped or retooled. Among likely voters, 36% said they want to revise the law; 37% want the law repealed. Only 15% said they would leave the new law unchanged.

The Defense Department has declared that “don’t ask, don’t tell” is once again the law of the land. However, DoD has set up a new system that could make it tougher to get fired for being openly gay. Secretary Robert Gates says all firings under the 1993 law must now be decided by one of the 4 service secretaries in consultation with the military’s general counsel.

Lindsay Lohan is due back in a Beverly Hills courtroom to face a judge who could send her back to jail. Lohan has to appear in court after failing another drug test. Today will be Lohan’s fifth court appearance since May.

The National League Championship Series is heading back to Philadelphia. The Phillies beat the San Francisco Giants last night, final score 4-2. However, the Giants still lead the series 3 games to 2. Game 6 is Saturday. Meantime, game 6 of the American League Championship Series is set for tonight in Texas.
