BP crews are claiming progress as they try to fit a tighter cap on the ruptured well at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico. In the meantime, the oil is gushing freely from the well head. And officials are warning that there is no guarantee the delicate operation will succeed.

Police in Bahamas say they put the 'Barefoot Bandit' behind bars. Coldon Harris-Moore was arrested before dawn. The Washington state teen has been on the run for two years.

Police are investigating how a 19-year-old Washington D.C. man was able to steal a bus. They say he was wearing the proper uniform, drove the right route, and even picked up paying passengers before crashing the bus into a tree.

The New York Yankees say long-time public address announcer Bob Sheppard has died. He was believed to be 99. Sheppard started with the Yankees in 1951 and last worked in 2007.
