During his retirement, he was saluted by the president.

Also during his retirement, he was subpoenaed by Congress for his alleged connections to the Mafia.

At the age of 55, on June 12th, 1971, Frank Sinatra announced his retirement from show biz. But it was not long before show biz and political biz had Old Blue Eyes back and crooning again.
