Most Ferrero Rocher chocolates eaten in one minute: 7

Current holder: Dynamite Dane Jim Lyngvild chomped down 7 of the ambassadors' favourites in just under 60 seconds live on Danish TV, in October 2008.
Rules: No water, must show empty mouth after each Rocher's been consumed.
Why it's breakable: We can eat one of these bad boys in 7 seconds, fact. 7 x 8 = 56 secs. Job done. Surely?
Why we're wrong: See our blunderous Slow Afternoon Club for how we totally ballsed it up - basically it's the fact that it's a sheer sphere of nuts, which dries your mouth out, just like that. Also, we'd forgotten we don't even like the bloody things.
Cheat: Swallow them whole and pretend to crunch. Rub tummy with quasi-glee. Await Heimlich manoeuvre.

Jim Lyngvild

Fastest 100m on a spacehopper: 30.2 seconds

?

Current holder: None other than super human multi-record breaking living legend... Ashrita Furman! Currently clocking in with 115 of the blighters (including the record for 'the most records held at the same time by an individual'), this particular feat was carried out at a special event in his hometown of New York in 2004.
Rules: None. Just hop, and quick about it.
Why it's breakable: This is one of those 'I used to be really good at that as a kid, I did' ones - a spacehopper, 100m, half a minute? Nah problem.
Why we're wrong: They're incredibly uncontrollable buggers, and you'll invariably bounce off the straight line - in other words, you'd need to train like the blazes for this one - until your thighs look like young English oaks.
Cheat: Fire you and your rubbery friend out of a cannon. That always works. ?

Ashrita Furman

Eggs broken with head in one minute: 103

Current holder: The lads over at FHM were having a look at the Guinness World Records book, much like ourselves, getting their work experience guy to do their egg/head challenge, which he promptly aced, nailing 103. Alex Smith, you complete and utter random, we salute you and your yolk covered forehead.
Rules: Medium sized hen eggs; must be broken one at a time. Hands can be used to steady egg, but cannot be used to pick eggs up.
Why it's breakable: Some random guy doing work experience managed it with no preparation, and what's more, all you have to do is slam your head into an egg or two (hundred).
Why we're wrong: Your back's gonna hurt, what with all the craning and table-bashing... but really it is that easy. Though you will get egg on your face! Ha! Ha! Ha!
Cheat: Scramble the eggs first - easier on the forehead.

Alex Smith

Fastest double duvet dressing: 1.13m

Current holder: Oh Blue Peter, God bless your tiny blue boat emblazoned socks, you've done it again, allowing one Miss Liz Barker to become the current record holder of the quickest double duvet stuffed correctly into a double duvet cover, as she did in just 1.13 minutes live on air.
Rules: No, you can't just lob it in there, it's got to be properly made up, just like your mum taught ya'.
Why it's breakable: You're making your bed, come on. This one's a doozy. Put it in, pull it back, shazam, one made-up bed!
Why we're wrong: The last time you washed your sheets... when was that? Yep, we don't know either. In other words, we're going to be pretty rusty at this.
Cheat: We're thinking hidden magnets in the corners of the duvet and corners of the sheets. That plan can't go wrong. No ways.

Sweetcorn kernels eaten with a toothpick in three minutes: 185

Current holder: Do you remember 'Bubble', aka Paul Ferguson From Big Brother 2, back in 2001? Remember when he managed to almost break the sweetcorn-kernels-eaten-with-a-toothpick-in-three-minutes record without much trying? Well, he went onto Big Brother's Little Brother (as you do) and promptly broke the record, no problem like.
Rules: One kernel at a time, fellas.
Why it's breakable: Take one toothpick, poke one kernel of sweetcorn, pop it in your mouthhole. Repeat. If you cock this one up, you've got bigger problems to deal with.
Why we're wrong: There is the time factor, and the chance you might accidentally miss your mouth and hit your cheek. Not the biggest chance, admittedly, but there you go.
Cheat: Make sweetcorn kebabs and pop loads of the yellow treats in your mouth, sly like. Warning: you'll almost certainly get busted. ?

Paul Ferguson

Fastest mile holding an egg in a spoon: 10 mins 45

Current holder: Ashrita Furman, you cheeky tinker, you've done it again. Another one of the Guinness-loving record breaker extraordinaire's feats, this is a sports day special taken to its utter extremes. Relying not only on you being a bit speedy, you also need to have wrists of steel and patience, patience, patience.
Rules: As you'd expect - touch the egg or drop the egg, you're definitely out.
Why it's breakable: Super athletes run a mile in around 4 minutes. Your average gymrat can bust out an 8 minute mile, no probs. Would doing it with a spoon be that hard?
Why we're wrong: Though this one, in theory, could be quite easy, it does require you to learn how to run without moving your upper body much at all - no mean feat.
Cheat: One word: Glue. ?

Ashrita Furman
