滬江英樂：Sean Paul在St. Andrew的一個藝術家庭中長大，其雙親都是頗有天賦的運動員，母親還是當地一位知名畫家。他的家庭成員多是游泳運動員，其祖父和父親都是國家水球隊運動員，其雙親也都是游泳運動員。故身為混血兒的他自幼就很喜歡運動，并十分擅長游泳和水球。后來，Paul也繼承父業(yè)加入了牙買加國家水球隊，從13歲開始到21歲都在為國家隊效力。

但隨后Sean Paul決定放棄體育并開始專注于自己的音樂事業(yè)。1993年，年輕的Paul已經和雷鬼樂組合Third World的幾位成員混得很熟了。1996年，Paul在制作人Jeremy Harding的幫助下發(fā)行了個人的首支單曲《Baby Girl》，事實證明，Sean Paul從這時候已經開始上路了。在2000年，Sean Paul在VP Records旗下發(fā)行了其第一張錄音室專輯《Stage One》，并獲得了一些不錯的反響。

2002年，他發(fā)行了第二張錄音室專輯《Dutty Rock》，這張專輯使他在全世界范圍內名聲大噪?！禗utty Rock》全球最終銷量突破600萬張，其中包括美國本土的200萬張。并且，這張專輯也讓Sean Paul獲得了2004年第46屆格萊美獎的三項提名，分別是：“最佳新人獎”、“最佳男性說唱表演（《Get Busy》）”和“最佳雷鬼專輯（《Dutty Rock》）”并在最終為他斬獲了他的第一座“金唱機”，獲得了“最佳雷鬼專輯（《Dutty Rock》）”。

2005年9月27日，Sean Paul發(fā)行其第三張錄音室專輯《The Trinity》，該專輯收錄了多首世界范圍內的打榜單曲。其中《Temperature》的數碼下載超過了100萬次獲得了白金單曲認證并且在Billboard Hot 100前十名Sean Paul贏得格萊美獎占據了17周之久，是當年在前十名時間最長的單曲，也讓這支單曲成為了他在美國最成功的單曲。

2009年8月18日，Sean Paul發(fā)行了第四張錄音室專輯《Imperial Blaze》，包括了首單《So Fine》等多首單曲。在之后他轉向了歐洲市場，2011年他發(fā)行了兩張單曲《Got 2 Luv U feat. Alexis Jordan》和《She Doesn't Mind》，前者是與Ryan Tedder和Stargate共同創(chuàng)造并由Stargate制作的，這兩張單曲在歐洲取得了相當不錯的成績。

如今，繼Bob Marley之后，Sean Paul和Damien Marley（Bob Marley之子）一起已經逐漸成為當代牙買加音樂的標志。
