China's global influence is also growing in the world of movies. In the wake of the fifth China Image Film Festival in the UK last month, another major Chinese film festival has just begun. He encourages more people to take up horse riding especially during the upcoming Chinese year of the horse.

As the new year rings in, it's also time for these actors to round up their year and make some new year wishes.

"It's my first time in London. I’ve been to the Busan International Film Festival before, but this is very different. I hope I can have some better film roles next year," actress Ding Zishuo said.

"It's been a special year for me because I became a mother. Next year I’ll work harder in my film caree r- I’m very happy that I’ll be starring in a new China-UK co-production, which is soon to be released," actress Huang Yi said.

A total of 15 Chinese films, including "Lost in Thailand", "So Young" and "Silent Witness" will be shown to British audiences during the four-day event, which is supported by the State General Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television and the British Council.

The organizers also plan to hold similar Chinese film festivals in four other European countries, including Germany, Italy, France and Austria.
