Alright, this is fucking hilarious. And enormously flattering. I’m totally signing all my letters 囧 from now on. But the second and third characters, 瑟夫, what do they mean?
I’m so happy Joseph Gorden-Levitt comes to Shanhai, Chinese fans call him “囧瑟夫”, because his face totally looks like chinese character “囧”.
Apparently I'm called 囧 because my face looks like the character 囧。HAAAAHAHAHAAHHAHA! Thank you!! <:O)
墩f(shuō)文解字》注:象形。
The character 囧 in ancient Chinese meant "window" because it looks like the structure of a window. Only recently, Chinese netizens have found that the character resembles an awkward human face, therefore it has been widely used on Internet.
瑟 as in the word 琴瑟, is a kind of ancient Chinese instrument. 夫 means man. But the two words used here are only a transliteration of seph, in your name Joseph.
