Pronouns(代詞)?are words we use in the place of a full noun.

We have both?subject?and?object?pronouns:
人稱代詞在句中可以用作主語(yǔ)(用主格)和賓語(yǔ)(用賓格)。

We use he/him to refer to men, and she/her to refer to women. When we are not sure if we are talking about a man or a woman we use they/them.
當(dāng)提到男的時(shí),我們用hehim;提到女的時(shí)用sheher。當(dāng)我們不確定討論的是男還是女時(shí),我們用theythem。

例句:

This is Jack. He’s my brother. I don’t think you have met him.

This is Angela. She’s my sister. Have you met her before?

Talk to a friend. Ask them to help you.

You could go to a doctor. They might help you.

Subject pronouns

謹(jǐn)記:英語(yǔ)句子都是有主語(yǔ)的。

His father has just retired. Was a teacher. > He was a teacher.

I’m waiting for my wife. Is late. > She is late.

If there is no other subject we use it or there. We call this a dummy subject.
如果沒(méi)有其他主語(yǔ),我們用it或there代替。稱之為“形式主語(yǔ)”。

Object pronouns

We use object pronouns:

??as the object of the verb:
