我們知道，限定詞是在名詞詞組中對名詞中心詞起特指、類指以及表示確定數(shù)量和非確定數(shù)量等限定作用的詞類。

英語名詞分為單數(shù)名詞、復(fù)數(shù)名詞還是不可數(shù)名詞。名詞詞組前選擇使用哪個限定詞，取決于隨后名詞的類別。

1.只能與單數(shù)名詞搭配的限定詞

有些限定詞只能與單數(shù)名詞搭配，如a, an, one, another, each, neither, many a, such a等。

a toy ???????????????????? ?an apple ???????????? one book ?

another student ???? ?each worker ?????? neither girl ?

such a sentence ???? ?many a pencil（表示許多鉛筆）

2.只能與復(fù)數(shù)名詞搭配的限定詞

有些限定詞只能與復(fù)數(shù)名詞搭配，如both, two, another two, many, a few, few, several, these, those, a number of等。

3.只能與不可數(shù)名詞搭配的限定詞

有些限定詞只能與不可數(shù)名詞搭配，如a (little) bit of, a large amount of, a great deal of, (a) little, much, less, (the) least等。

4.能與單、復(fù)數(shù)名詞搭配的限定詞

5.能與單數(shù)、不可數(shù)名詞搭配的限定詞

有些限定詞既能與單數(shù)名詞搭配，又能與不可數(shù)名詞名詞搭配，如this, that等。

7.能與三類名詞搭配的限定詞
