場(chǎng)景一

Harry:So how are things going, mate?
哈里：近況如何，老兄？

Johhny:Good, things are good. I'm really enjoying my job. Lots of work, but I'll be rich in three years.
卓尼：不錯(cuò)，都挺好的。我很喜歡現(xiàn)在這份工作。盡管工作很多，但三年后我就會(huì)很富有的。

how are things going? 是口語中詢問朋友近況如何的一句常用表達(dá)法。

場(chǎng)景二

Harry:You work all the time. I don't know how you manage it. You should take a break some time. Come and play football with me!
哈里：你總是在不停地工作。我不知道你怎么能應(yīng)付過來。你應(yīng)該花些時(shí)間放松一下。過來和我一起玩足球吧！

Johhny:Too busy, mate, too busy. Venture capital, it's so excited right now. All the opportunities opening up in China and I'm here to make the most of it!
卓尼：老兄，我太忙，太忙了。對(duì)我來說，風(fēng)險(xiǎn)投資太刺激了。中國(guó)現(xiàn)在已開放了很多機(jī)會(huì)，我想趁此好好利用一下它們。

Johhny:You should think about changing your job, Harry, get a piece of the action.
卓尼：哈里，你應(yīng)該考慮更換你的工作，從中獲取一些利益。

get a piece of the action ?表示“從中獲益”。

場(chǎng)景四

Harry:You are right, I'm always thinking about changing jobs. But I only know about computers, nothing else.
哈里：你說的有道理，我一直在考慮換工作，但除了計(jì)算機(jī)，我一無所知。

場(chǎng)景五

Johhny:There are lost of computer experts around. You need to specialise.
卓尼：現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)有很多的計(jì)算機(jī)專家了，你應(yīng)該有主攻的方向。

Harry:Perhaps you are right. But I really like my job.
哈里：或許你是對(duì)的，但我現(xiàn)在真的很喜歡這份工作。

Johhny:Is the money good?
卓尼：待遇很好嗎？

Harry:Not bad.
哈里：不差。

Johhny:but not good?
卓尼：那就是不好了？

Is the money good? 是詢問工資待遇的一個(gè)口語表達(dá)法。

場(chǎng)景七

Harry:Well, I could find a job that pays more, but I would enjoy less.
哈里：我可以找到薪水更高的工作，但是我并不會(huì)這么快樂了。

Johhny:You could come and work for our company!
卓尼：你應(yīng)該來我們公司！

Harry:Hmmm, is that an offer?
哈里：這算是一個(gè)邀請(qǐng)嗎？

Johhny:Yes, I'm serious! Listen, I'll have a word with the human resources people tomorrow.
卓尼：是的，我是很認(rèn)真的。聽著，明天我將會(huì)和人事部的工作人員簡(jiǎn)單談一下。

Johhny:I know there are some vacancies at the moment in the IT team.
You'd easily get it. Have to go now, see you soon.
卓尼：我知道此時(shí)IT 部門有有些空缺崗位。對(duì)你來說將會(huì)很容易的。我現(xiàn)在不得不走了，再見啊。

Harry:Yeah, cheers mate, see you soon.
哈里：好的，謝謝老兄了，再見。?

have a word with sb 是指和某人進(jìn)行一個(gè)簡(jiǎn)單的交流
cheers 在口語中用來表示謝謝，經(jīng)常替代thanks或thank you
