Where do adverbials go in a sentence?
狀語(yǔ)在句子中在什么位置?

We normally put adverbials after the verb:
我們通常把狀語(yǔ)放在動(dòng)詞后面:

He spoke angrily.

They live just here.

We will go in a few minutes.

or after the object or complement:
或者是賓語(yǔ)或補(bǔ)語(yǔ)后面:

He opened the door quietly.

She left the money on the table.

We saw our friends last night.

You are looking tired tonight.

But adverbials of frequency (how often) usually come in front of the main verb:
但是表示頻率的狀語(yǔ)通常出現(xiàn)在主要?jiǎng)釉~前面:

We usually spent our holidays with our grandparents.

I have never seen William at work.

But if we want to emphasise an adverbial we can put it at the beginning of a clause:
但是如果我們想要強(qiáng)調(diào)某個(gè)狀語(yǔ),可以把狀語(yǔ)放在句首:

Last night we saw our friends.

In a few minutes we will go.

Very quietly he opened the door.

If we want to emphasise an adverb of manner we can put it in front of the main verb:
如果要強(qiáng)調(diào)表示方式的狀語(yǔ),我們可以把狀語(yǔ)放在主語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞的前面:

He quietly opened the door.

She had carefully put the glass on the shelf.
